  • The centre is located at Slaughterbridge near the medieval market town of Camelford (considered by some to be the site of Camelot) in North Cornwall, and set in 20 acres surrounding 'King Arthur's Stone'. Both the inscribed stone and battle are both dated by earliest stories to AD540.
    Visitors can walk through the fields where King Arthur and Mordred met for their last battle.

  • Set on a large natural mound, Launceston Castle dominates the surrounding landscape. The tower top is now reached via a dark internal staircase.
    The castle long remained a prison and George Fox, founder of the Quakers, suffered harsh confinement here in 1656. A display traces 1,000 years of history, with finds from site excavations.

  • This stunningly beautiful Elizabethan manor house overlooks the picturesque fishing harbour of Padstow in North Cornwall. When Peter and Elisabeth Prideaux-Brune arrived in 1988, a huge challenge lay before them. Today, you can see the fruits of this labour of love and be enchanted by Prideaux Place and the stories surrounding it. This stunningly beautiful Elizabethan manor house overlooks the picturesque fishing harbour of Padstow in North Cornwall.

  • Screech Owl Sanctuary have created an area that will provide care and rehabilitation for sick and injured owls in Cornwall, promote awareness and enable visitors to see and touch owls at close proximity. A great day out with a children's play area, guided tours and hand-tame area for everyone to explore.

  • St Mawes Castle is among the best-preserved of Henry VIII's coastal artillery fortresses, and the most elaborately decorated of them all. One of the chain of forts built between 1539 and 1545 to counter an invasion threat from Catholic France and Spain, it guarded the important anchorage of Carrick Roads, sharing the task with Pendennis Castle on the other side of the Fal estuary.

  • In a spectacular cliff-edge position, this unique Bronze Age tomb had a long and complex history as a sacred site. Seen as excavated in 1878 by Cornish antiquarian William Borlase.

  • Among the best preserved ancient villages in the South-West, occupied from Iron Age until late Roman times. It includes the foundations of stone houses, and an intriguing 'fogou' underground passage.

  • This Iron Age settlement was originally occupied almost 2,000 years ago. The village consisted of stone-walled homesteads known as 'courtyard houses', found only on the Land's End peninsula and the Isles of Scilly. The houses line a 'village street', and each had an open central courtyard surrounded by a number of thatched rooms. There are also the remains of an enigmatic 'fogou' underground passage.

  • Roofed and walled in stone, this complex of passages is the largest and best-preserved of several mysterious underground tunnels associated with Cornish Iron Age settlements. The purpose of such 'fogous' - a Cornish-language word meaning 'cave' - is unknown. Refuges, storage chambers or ritual shrines have all been suggested.

  • Three fine late Neolithic or early Bronze Age stone circles arranged in a line, a grouping unique in England. Probably the best examples of ceremonial circles in the south west, they are traditionally reputed to be the remains of men petrified for playing 'hurling' on a Sunday.

  • The low and grass-covered but complete ground-plan of a moated 13th-century manor house, in a delightful woodland setting.

  • The great 13th-century circular shell-keep of Restormel still encloses the principal rooms of the castle in remarkably good condition. It stands on an earlier Norman mound surrounded by a deep dry ditch, atop a high spur beside the River Fowey. Twice visited by the Black Prince, it finally saw action during the Civil War in 1644. It commands fantastic views and is a favourite picnic spot.

  • One of a pair of small artillery forts built by Henry VIII in the 1530s to defend Fowey Harbour, consisting of two storeys with gun ports at ground level.

  • A Neolithic or early Bronze Age chambered tomb with an entrance passage, walled and roofed with stone slabs, leading into the central chamber.

  • Mount Edgcumbe House is the former home of the Earls of Mount Edgcumbe. Set in Grade I Cornish Gardens within 865 acres Country Park on the Rame Peninsula, South East Cornwall.

  • Soaring above the surrounding rooftops, Truro Cathedral is located at the heart of this thriving Georgian city and wonderfully situated in the middle of the Royal Duchy of Cornwall.

  • Carnglaze consists of three underground caverns set in 6.5 acres of wooded hillside of the Loveny valley at St. Neot, near Liskeard. During the Second World War the Royal Navy used the first of three caverns at Carnglaze to store its supply of rum. In 2001 it was converted into an auditorium with seating for 400. The slate walls and roof form a stunning backdrop for performances, making this a unique venue.
